On July 9, 2025, Li Daobin, the director of the Science and Technology Bureau of Pukou District, Nanjing City, Huang Xuelong, the deputy director, and Dong Weihai, the director of the Office, came to our institute for research. Both sides held an in-depth discussion and exchange on the cooperation among industry, academia and research. The symposium was presided over by Dai Wangzhou, the vice dean of the School of Intelligent Science and Technology.
Dai Wangzhou, on behalf of the School of Intelligent Science and Technology, extended a warm welcome to Director Li Daobin and his delegation. He stated that the Suzhou campus focuses on the development of new engineering and new medicine, striving to become the main battlefield for the growth and expansion of new engineering at Nanjing University, and empowering traditional manufacturing and other industries. Subsequently, he briefly introduced the development overview of the School of Intelligent Science and Technology from aspects such as disciplinary foundation, teaching staff, talent cultivation, and integration of industry and education. He mentioned that the college attaches great importance to cross-border talent recruitment, continuously promotes cross-border integration, and actively advances cooperation among industry, academia and research. Currently, it has established extensive connections and cooperation with local governments and well-known enterprises. He looks forward to working hand in hand with the Science and Technology Bureau of Pukou District in the future to promote the integration of industry and education through the establishment of a joint research institute and other means, and deepen the exchanges and cooperation between Nanjing University and Nanjing Jiangbei New Area in the fields of new engineering and new medicine.

He mentioned that the construction of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area is closely related to Nanjing University, and the two sides have been continuously promoting in-depth cooperation among industry, academia and research. He pointed out that technological innovation and industrial innovation are the fundamental paths to developing new quality productive forces. Currently, the development of traditional industries such as manufacturing urgently needs the empowerment of artificial intelligence to further optimize the industrial structure and inject new impetus into high-quality development. He hopes that through this in-depth symposium and exchange, they can learn from each other, draw on experience, actively seek paths for in-depth cooperation in industry-university-research collaboration between the two sides, and jointly make new and greater contributions to the empowerment of industrial development by artificial intelligence.
