On June 17, 2025, Senior Engineer Yao Dong and his team from the Shandong Space and Air Information Research Institute visited our institute for an in-depth exchange on scientific research cooperation. The exchange meeting was presided over by Associate Dean Dan CaiFeng of the School of Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology.

Before the meeting, Dan CaiFeng led the team of experts to visit the Suzhou campus and the construction of the college. He briefly introduced the development journey of the School of Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology from aspects such as discipline construction, faculty, talent cultivation, and industry-university-research cooperation. He emphasized that the college, relying on the State Key Laboratory of Software Computer New Technologies at Nanjing University, has vigorously developed cutting-edge directions such as machine vision and pattern recognition, general foundation large models, and generative artificial intelligence. It has also actively promoted industry-university-research cooperation and the transformation of research results, and has now accumulated certain experience and achieved certain results. He looks forward to both sides finding points of connection through this exchange and actively exploring the possibilities for cooperation.

At the meeting, Yao Dong introduced the Shandong Space and Air Information Research Institute from aspects such as development positioning, park layout, and local cooperation. He mentioned that the institute is actively promoting integrated construction of projects - talents - platformsto achieve long-term and stable development and is committed to facilitating talent mobility in Shandong. He expressed his expectation that in the future, both sides can jointly and actively promote cooperation in the fields of scientific and technological innovation, industrial incubation, and talent cultivation to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.

Subsequently, Zhang Dong introduced the precise detection of photovoltaic meteorological elements and short-term and forecasting. Professor Yuan Xiaotong from our institute briefly introduced the research work conducted in the field of meteorological element forecasting from aspects of research background, research achievements, and future prospects.

Wen Yaxin introduced the Comprehensive Research and Teaching Platform for Embodied Intelligence from aspects such as the background and significance of its construction, construction goals and content, overall planning, and benefits. Associate Professor Bing Zhenshan and Assistant Professor Si Chenyang from our institute, as well as Assistant Professor Zhou Xiaobin and Research Assistant Tang Kaiqiang from the School of Robotics and Automation at Nanjing University, successively introduced their research work in the field of embodied intelligence.

The participants engaged in an in-depth discussion and exchange regarding the relevant research work and potential directions for cooperation.
