In order to thoroughly implement the educational philosophy of “Health First,” fully realize the “Five-Alls” education, enrich campus cultural life, and enhance the physical fitness of teachers and students, on May 17th, the School of Cognitive Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as “SCT”) actively organized teachers and students to participate in the Nanjing University 2025 Table Tennis “Inter-institute Cup” team competition held in Fang Zhaozhou Gymnasium. The SCT athletes, participating for the first time, fought bravely. The women's team and the men's team won the bronze medal in the women's group and the silver medal in the men's Group B respectively. They demonstrated the spirit of unity and perseverance of SCT students.
Women's Team: Breaking Through Adversity, Bronze Medal Shines
In this tournament, the women's team played steadily and advanced to the semifinals. Facing the strong Atmospheric Science School, the players fought with all their might but unfortunately lost with a score of 0-3. They quickly adjusted their state and met the School of Geography and Ocean Science in the bronze medal match. With flexible tactical adjustments and decisive attacks on key points, the women's team secured a 3-1 victory and successfully won the bronze medal.
Men's Team: Fierce Battle Among Strong Opponents, Silver Medal Breakthrough
The journey of the men's team was equally exciting. In the group stage, they successively defeated the School of Foreign Studies with a score of 3-1 and narrowly won against the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering with a score of 3-2, advancing strongly into the knockout stage. In the quarterfinals, facing the strong School of Engineering Management, the players withstood the pressure and narrowly won in the decisive game with a close score of 3-2, making it into the final. In the final against the School of Advanced Engineering and Applied Sciences, they once took the lead with excellent teamwork, but in the end, they narrowly lost with a score of 1-3 and won the silver medal.
In the Name of Sports, Showcasing the Charm of Zhike
In this tournament, the students from the School of Cognitive Science and Technology (Zhike) have demonstrated a tenacious competitive spirit and the sportsmanship of “Friendship First.” Whether it is the women's team's resilient comeback or the men's team's breakthrough to the finals, both have highlighted the excellent style of Zhike's “Daring to Fight and Win.” We look forward to creating more brilliance on both the academic and sports tracks in the future! This dual breakthrough by Zhike has not only brought honor to the school but also inspired all teachers and students to devote themselves to learning and scientific research with high morale, continuing to write the youthful chapters of the new era.
Finally, special thanks go to the Suzhou Campus Management Committee, Nanhe College, Frontier Science School, and Integrated Circuit School for their collaborative support and guarantee of this competition.
