In order to broaden students' horizons, deepen the integration of industry and education, and promote the innovation of new engineering talent training paradigms, the School of Intelligent Science and Technology fully leveraged the advantages of the Suzhou campus's cooperation with local authorities. On May 13th, the school organized a group of undergraduate and graduate students to visit the Huawei Lianqiu Lake R&D Center for an exchange activity, led by the school counselor Liu Haohan.
This visit focused on technological innovation, talent cultivation, and career development. Through specialized lectures, alumni sharing, and a tour of the park, it comprehensively displayed Huawei's global layout and technological strength, providing the teachers and students with valuable practical learning opportunities.
At the beginning of the event, Chen Han, the Human Resources Manager of Huawei Nanjing Research Institute, systematically introduced Huawei's global business network, corporate culture, and core products to the teachers and students through an exciting promotional video. In the introduction of Huawei's various departments, it clearly demonstrated Huawei's global leading position in the fields of information and communication, artificial intelligence, and the HarmonyOS, as well as its business layout covering many countries and regions.
During the discussion session, relevant members of Huawei's team engaged in in-depth exchanges with the students. Dr. Li Ning from the Public Development Department shared Huawei's technical layout of the AI large model, including building the Ascend AI full-stack solution, constructing large models in the communication field, and introducing AI across the stack to create an autonomous driving network solution.
Wang Yuncan from the Xiaoyi Business Department (an alumnus of Nanjing University, class of 2021) shared Xiaoyi's breakthrough research achievements in the fields of natural language processing and multimodal interaction, themed on “Innovative Practices of AI Voice Assistants.” He also demonstrated Xiaoyi's extensive applications in scenarios such as smart homes and in-vehicle systems through practical case studies.
Several guests from Huawei also introduced internship positions in different departments of Huawei to the students and provided highly valuable career development guidance.
During the park tour, the students took a mini-train to explore the iconic landscapes of the Lianqiu Lake R&D Center. As one of Huawei's largest global R&D bases, the park has constructed seven distinctive architectural clusters around Lianqiu Lake, including Plaza Town, Urban Blocks, and Hilltop Settlements. These clusters integrate a variety of functions such as corporate office space, R&D pilot testing, technology incubation, production services, and supporting residential areas.
This visit not only allowed the teachers and students to intuitively experience Huawei's cutting-edge technological capabilities and innovative culture, but also provided practical references for the students' career planning through the growth stories of alumni. As a global benchmark for technological innovation, Huawei Lianqiu Lake R&D Center's open and inclusive R&D spirit, as well as its determination to overcome difficulties, has injected new innovative momentum into the teachers and students of the School of Intelligent Science and Technology. We look forward to more fruitful cooperation between the university and the enterprise in the fields of technology transfer, internships, and employment in the future.
