On the afternoon of May 7, 2025, the AI Empowerment Center Construction Seminar co-organized by Nanjing University School of Artificial Intelligence and the Kunshan Yangcheng Lake Science and Technology Park Management Committee was successfully held in Room 302, Tian Shu Building. In attendance were Xi Guofeng, Deputy Director of the Kunshan Yangcheng Lake Science and Technology Park Management Committee, Sun Wenbin from the Industry-Education Integration Department, Yao Danyan and Zhou Yuan from the Collaborative Innovation Department, Gao Yang, Party Secretary and Executive Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence, Vice Dean Dan Cai Feng, and others. The meeting was chaired by Dan Cai Feng.
At the meeting, Dan Cai Feng welcomed the delegation led by Xi Guofeng from the Science and Technology Park Management Committee. He gave a comprehensive introduction to the college, covering areas such as discipline construction, faculty, talent development, and research achievements. He noted that the college has accumulated considerable experience in industry-university-research cooperation and has achieved certain cooperative outcomes. He expressed his hope that through this exchange and discussion, the college could deepen cooperation with Kunshan Yangcheng Lake Science and Technology Park, jointly advance the construction of the AI Empowerment Center, and further promote the integration of industry and education as well as collaborative innovation.
Xi Guofeng shared the rich experience in industry-university-research cooperation from Kunshan Yangcheng Lake Science and Technology Park. He hoped that through this exchange, the disciplinary strengths of the School of Artificial Intelligence could be fully leveraged to establish a sound cooperative relationship and gradually deepen multi-layered cooperation, achieving complementary resources and strengths between both parties.
Yao Danyan provided a detailed introduction to Kunshan Yangcheng Lake Science and Technology Park, covering aspects such as the industrial system, policy support, measures and methods, welfare packages, and incentive mechanisms. She mentioned that the characteristic industries of Kunshan High-Tech Zone are now electronics and high-end equipment, and she hoped that artificial intelligence technology could further empower industrial development in the future.
Subsequently, our school’s teachers, including Zhang Zhenyu, Bing Zhenshan, Guo Lan Zhe, Fang Yuqi, and Ji Fanfan, introduced their respective research work one by one.
Finally, Gao Yang delivered a summarizing speech. He stated that currently, the empowerment of artificial intelligence is the only way to promote industrial transformation and improve the industrial structure. He expressed his hope that through this exchange, a deeper understanding of the local industrial demands in Kunshan could be achieved. This would, in turn, help explore suitable cooperation methods and directions for both parties, gradually expand the scope and depth of cooperation, accelerate the construction of the AI Empowerment Center, and boost the higher-quality development of both the university and the local area in Suzhou, ultimately achieving a win-win situation.
After the meeting, Gao Yang and Dan Cai Feng accompanied Deputy Director Xi Guofeng and his delegation on a tour of the Suzhou campus, where they introduced the construction and development situation.
